History.
Starcraft has a long history of innovation and market leadership dating all the way back to 1903. We were founded in the heart of Northern Indiana's Amish country, and still call this area our home. Starcraft originally produced livestock tanks and other metal farm equipment, and in the 1920's, added a variety of boats to our lineup.

In 1964, Starcraft entered the RV industry with a line of folding camping trailers. The camper's innovative features (which included a hardtop and crank-up lifter system) quickly achieved a major share of the RV market, which we still enjoy today. Through the 1960's, 70's, 80's and 90's, Starcraft grew to become a dominant RV, marine and automotive and van conversion manufacturer.

Today, Starcraft RV offers soft-sided truck campers, folding camping trailers, both lightweight and full-size travel trailers and fifth wheels in North America. The Starcraft Marine and Automotive Groups are produced under separate ownership, thus giving Starcraft the strongest name recognition in the recreational vehicle industry.

Product Planning & Engineering.
Great ideas can come from anywhere, and Starcraft encourages all our employees to aggressively critique our existing product. Our Product Development Committee is made up of representatives from every department who are charged with the task of sorting through the employee, staff and
dealer recommendations and developing those ideas into innovative new products.

The Starcraft R&D and Engineering groups guide those products through the various phases of concept, research, modeling, mockup and testing all the way to reality. Both groups are linked together using computer-assisted design systems and our corporate mainframe network. Our Codes & Standards department ensures that all RVIA, CSA and state manufacturing codes are met or exceeded. Communication is the key to our creative group's success.

Manufacturing.
Starcraft has an excellent manufacturing facility. We dedicate over 300,000 square feet of floor space strictly to manufacturing, while another 30,000 square feet houses our sales and advertising, engineering and transportation groups.

We benefit from a unique advantage in the RV industry: the efficiencies of designing and building nearly every item in-house, from the frames and running gear (which we design) on up. Starcraft maintains total control over the engineering, manufacturing and quality of our components, sub-assemblies, assemblies, cabinets, cushions - everything! We are not limited by an outside manufacturer's 'off-the-shelf' products, nor are we constrained by someone else's timing.

Every vehicle we produce is repeatedly audited at various stations throughout each production line. Electrical, LP and water systems are checked, as well as fit and finish, standards and options, and correct loose items. And that's not all. Our sales department conducts regular audits independent of our own manufacturing and quality control checks. An exhaustive final inspection awaits each unit before shipment. We build it right the first time, from the ground up!
